Our design team brings many years of creative experience on a wide range of projects, large and small. Many Manhattan Textile clients are repeat customers, trusting our expertise again and again for more than a generation.
My career in interior design spans more than 40 years. From early experiences in framing and selling art, to operating a design center with my daughters, to traveling the world to stock our gallery with art and antiques with my husband … to designing homes and interiors throughout the US. It’s a labor of love and my dream came true. I build lasting relationships with clients through creative solutions that are never duplicated, always personal and respectfully private.
At a young age, I loved fashion and design and developed a keen eye for trends, coordinating and style. That early passion and years of valuable, hands-on experiences has led to the start of Manhattan Textiles in 1990. It has grown into a premier fabric store specializing in home textiles and trims, plus custom furniture design and upholstery. My design style mixes classic, traditional and modern. I love a good estate sale and updating quality furnishings with fresh, new fabric.
I have a degree in Interior Design and Art History plus 25 years of interior design work experience. In another life I ran an art gallery in Virginia. My creative work at Manhattan Textiles allows me to take the time to get to know my clients and their wide diversity of design needs, wants and wishes. It’s a collaborative and detailed process that I truly love. When away from work, I enjoy crafts, cookie decorating, movies and volunteering my design skills at non-profits.
Growing up in a creative family with parents who were into DIY long before DIY became a thing, I seamlessly and quickly settled into interior design, a lifelong career calling. Now with 20 years of experience as a design professional, I thoroughly enjoy interacting with my clients. I get to make people’s lives better by giving them the best version of their home. My goal with each client interaction is to make their house look fresh, amazing and timeless. My hobbies never stray too far from my day job: I love Pinterest (the magazine that never ends!) fashion, food and art.
